1. Your documents

Your documents, images, signatures, names and recognized text stay on your device by default. Scanning and text recognition run on the device. No Scanner PDF account is required. We do not host your documents on an Intuitions server.

You can view, rename and delete your documents. Sharing by email or with another app is initiated by you; the chosen service then applies its own rules.

2. Optional Firebase statistics

The statistics request appears from the second app launch. Before your decision, only predefined app usage events are stored locally, without enabling Firebase: up to 100 events. Events older than seven days are discarded the next time this buffer is processed and are never sent. No documents, names or recognized text are included. If you accept, pending events are sent; if you decline or withdraw consent, they are deleted and no new events are kept in this buffer. Automatic Firebase events begin after consent.

Only with your consent, Google Firebase Analytics collects pseudonymous statistics to help improve the app: features used, session and purchase events, a random app-instance identifier and approximate technical and geographic information. A pseudonymous identifier can distinguish an installation: these data are not entirely anonymous.

Custom events indicate saving, sharing or signing a document and showing the paywall. No documents, OCR text, file or folder names are sent to Firebase Analytics. Advertising identifiers are disabled; IDFV collection is also disabled on iOS.

Google may use aggregated, anonymized statistics for modeling and industry comparisons. Google Signals, granular device and location collection and advertising personalization are disabled. Approximate geographic information, including country and region, remains.

Declining does not remove any feature. You can accept or withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Usage statistics. Withdrawal stops Firebase collection and resets local Firebase data, including the random identifier. It does not automatically delete data already transmitted. Your decision, its date and the consent text version are stored locally.

3. ML Kit diagnostics on Android

ML Kit and Google Play services provide scanning and OCR on Android. Image content and text are processed on the device. Models may be downloaded. Google receives diagnostics: device and app information, device or installation identifiers depending on the component, performance, technical configuration, usage events and errors. These diagnostics are independent of the Firebase statistics switch.

See Google’s ML Kit data disclosures. On iOS, scanning and OCR use Apple’s on-device components.

4. Optional cloud copies

On Android, connecting Google Drive or Dropbox in Settings → Storage sends copies of saved documents to your own account. This processing provides the service you request. Drive uses the limited drive.file scope; Dropbox uses an app-specific folder. Authentication is handled by the provider; Scanner PDF does not receive your password. Connection information and tokens may be stored locally to support uploads.

Local copies remain. Disconnecting stops future uploads. Deleting a local document or uninstalling the app does not delete cloud copies: delete them directly in Drive or Dropbox. The providers’ policies apply to their services.

5. Purchases and permissions

Google Play on Android and the App Store on iOS handle Pro purchases. We do not receive your card numbers. The app uses purchase information to verify Pro access; purchase events may also be included in Firebase statistics after consent.

Android uses the network for the services described here and Google Play Billing for purchases. Google Play services manage the scanning camera. On iOS, the camera requires your permission. System pickers provide access to files you import. The app does not request location permission.

6. Providers and transfers

Google (Firebase, ML Kit, Google Play, Drive), Apple and Dropbox participate depending on the platform and features used. Transmitted data may be processed outside Québec and Canada, including in the United States. Firebase, ML Kit and cloud-copy communications are encrypted in transit.

See the privacy policies of Google, Apple and Dropbox. No advertising network is integrated. We do not sell your personal information or use statistics for targeted advertising.

7. Retention

Detailed user and event data in Analytics are configured for 2 months of retention, without extending the period on new activity. Deletion follows Google’s monthly deletion cycle; this does not guarantee immediate erasure on the exact day. Aggregated reports are not subject to this same setting.

Local documents remain until deleted; system backups may exist depending on your settings. Cloud copies, billing records and provider diagnostics follow their respective policies. Analytics retention does not apply to these other data.

8. Your rights and requests

Intuitions, a mobile app developer account in Québec, operates Scanner PDF. Its owner is responsible for personal information protection.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or portability of personal information, or object to certain processing. To exercise your rights or complain, contact intuitions.application@gmail.com. We will respond within the legal time limits and may request information needed to verify your identity.

We cannot access your local documents or cloud account. We do not promise individual remote deletion of pseudonymous statistics: we will review each request and explain identification and deletion possibilities and limitations. Withdrawal does not invalidate lawful processing already performed.

You may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or, where applicable, your European data protection authority.

9. Security, incidents and changes

Documents benefit from private app storage and system protections. Protect your device and accounts. If a privacy incident occurs, we assess its consequences, take appropriate measures and provide legally required notices.

The app is intended for adults. Policy changes will be dated here. A substantive change in statistics purposes or data requiring fresh consent will be handled in the app.
